Sumaiya Siddique is an accomplished scholar who holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Geography and Environment from the University of Dhaka. During her academic journey, she undertook comprehensive field research across various rural areas of Bangladesh, focusing on diverse topics such as environmental factors, disaster vulnerability, socio-economic conditions, and land-use patterns. Her prowess extends to on-site data collection using methods like In-depth Interviews and Questionnaire surveys, followed by meticulous data analysis. An adept writer, she is deeply interested in themes like displacement, human rights, and refugees. Notably, she was honored with the ‘National Science and Technology Fellowship 2022’ from the Ministry of Science and Technology in Bangladesh, which supported her research on the livelihoods of women home-based workers in Dhaka’s slums. 

Presently, Sumaiya is an associate at Inspira Advisory and Consulting Limited, responsible for preparing proposals, and reports, coordinating remote interviews, field visits, and qualitative data analysis. With a strong command of skills ranging from GIS and spatial analysis to research design, she continues to make significant strides in the field of geography and environmental studies.
