Inspira Advisory & Consulting Limited has been engaged by ADB Gender to conduct a mixed-methods survey of women’s climate-resilient livelihoods in char communities in Bangladesh under the Adaptive River System Management Project.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The survey covers three char-inclusive districts: Sirajganj, Bogura, and Rangpur, where ephemeral river islands and flood-prone landscapes define both the terrain and the lives of the women who inhabit them. These communities face compounding vulnerabilities: recurrent floods, erosion, drought, and deep geographic isolation that disproportionately constrain women’s economic agency and long-term resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study will document women’s livelihood opportunities, assess the accessibility of critical services, and identify climate-smart innovations with the potential to be scaled within char settings. By centring the voices and lived experiences of women in some of Bangladesh’s most climate-exposed communities, the findings will directly inform broader climate resilience policy and programming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
